29th December - Hoping you all have a wonderful start to the New Year. Had an email from Pendercraft today, which I'd like to share with you.

Hey there!

I am Rich Taylor of Pendercrafts. We make 3rd party add-ons for flight simulator 2004 (mostly IA ships) and have just released the LOTG spindrift demo today. If you find this merits the attention of your LOTG fans, could you point them in the right direction?

8th October - John(JTR) is in the process of updating his LOTG-A Love Story fanfic, with new images and editing. He's started with the prologue and will update each chapter as he finds time.

In other news, I've had reports from fans that the new DVD release of LOTG has more than lived up to expectation, with wonderfully clear and bright images and excellent extras. Also, that some of you were able to take advantage of the Amazon special last month. Hope you are all having your LOTG marathons and enjoying the sparkly new-looking episodes.Cheers.

On a personal note, I am still having fun in my new fandom, Primeval(ITV)- a UK SF series, as well as creating a website for one of the actors, James Murray. Thank you to those that contacted me after my computer meltdown, I appreciate you taking the time and you're now all back in my address book (yay).

23rd September - The wonderful John has created four new episode tribute Collage for ladies of LOTG. They're in his guest gallery in the Main Gallery. Enjoy.

17th September - Due to a computer infection from the virtumonde virus, I have had to reformat my hardrive, and lost all my address book in the process(as well as the archive of several hundred emails) - if you've emailed me in the past, or just want to keep in touch, I'd like to re-add you to my address book so send me a note. Cheers and hope you are all enjoying your boxset's of LOTG - especially those that were able to take advantage of the special amazon offer the other week.

1st Aug - message for John(JTR). I've not been able to send you an email for the past two days, they are being blocked by verizon and bounced back to me. Can you try emailing me again? cheers.

31st July - another review for the LOTG DVD box set:-
"Well, my set finally arrived in the mail last weekend and I can only say that I am totally thrilled with this fantastic limited edition set of LOTG!
Before receiving it, I admit that I feared that I had paid too steep a price for this set, but the extras such as the LOTG-themed wooden cage for the DVD case, the reprinted Gold Key LOTG comic, the star interviews(My only theory as to why Deanna Lund looks even BETTER 40 years later is that it MUST be because her beauty glows from within her in the first place!), the IA home movies, the flight 612 airline patch, etc. all make this a set well worth getting for any serious LOTG fan.
I admit, if I were the film editor who compiled this set, about the only thing that I would've done differently would've been to get a voice-over narration during the IA home movies, perhaps introducing the writers who were sitting around the conference table.
Even though these are 2-sided DVD's, I found that the visual and audio quality of these episodes are crisp and comparable to broadcast quality.
Also, we will finally conveniently be able to view all of these episodes in their original production order, instead of the initial US broadcast order (which is how these DVD's are arrainged). In this way, we'll be able to see how the characters of Valerie Scott and Cmdr. Fitzhugh ("Peter Linglehofer") slowly but surely develop during their stay on the still unnamed Giants' planet, such as when she transforms from a spoiled jet-set troublemaker to team-player and when Fitz finally quits carrying around his million dollar briefcase and becomes an essential team-player as well.
I have no regrets in getting this set, and I'm certain none of you will, either."

23rd July - Updated "Other Authors" section with a new author and a new fanfic - The Cover Connection - a short story from a terrific new fan of the site and the show.

20th July - another enthusiastic fan review -
"I just got my LOTG DVD set via UPS and I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. The set is phenomenal. The photos on the web and the description just didn't do it justice. So far I've only watched the UNAIRED pilot, which if you've seen it before it's usually dark, grainy and difficult to watch.
Well, I don't know how they did it but it's pristine. The clarity of sound and picture are amazing. It was so wonderful to be able to see the unaired pilot without defect.

I did check the aired version of the pilot and the picture is PERFECT! They did a remarkable job of digitally restoring the series. You can make out the tiniest detail (no pun intended)...LOL. I can't wait to watch all the episodes. Hmm...maybe I should lock myself in my room with a bottle of water, a few snacks and a chamber pot and not come out until I've seen them all...LOL!:P

The packaging for the set is VERY impressive. The case is a wooden box that resembles one of the cages used to capture the little people. The front window has a raised image of the little people behind a metal screen. To open the set you slide the door up; just like in the show. The DVD's are held in place by slots in the wood and the extras are next to them.

The extras just blow me away. There is a min-copy of the LOTG comic book #1 (very well done), a beautiful booklet with photos and excerpts from the cast interviews, there are four beautiful post cards featuring the cast and I've saved the best for last. The uniform patch and Spindrift key chain come packaged together attached to a nice LOTG card in a plastic bag. It looks like something you'd buy at the store back in the 60's. On the back of the card is an add for the IRWIN ALLEN merchandise coming out that can be purchased via FABGEARUSA.com. There is even a code for getting 10% off on your next order. Finally, the set comes with coupons for the OTHER IA series on DVD. The first coupon is for $5 off on one title, the second is for $10 off on two titles and the third is for $20 off on three titles.

The only thing that was a slight letdown was I got the impression from the photos on the web that the Spindrift key chain was a miniature of the ship. Instead it's a molded rubber profile of the ship. It's still VERY cool.

I have to admit that this set is truly worth the wait that it has been. I honestly thought I'd never see the day that the entire series was released. Well, now it has and beautifully digitally remastered. I am one VERY happy camper right now!!!" Bryan.

20th July - well, the LOTG DVD set is out there, and fans are buying it. Here's an initial review from a fan who got in early:-
"Perfect, looks very good, only thing missing is the previews for next week show, and the opening picture of Land of the Giants in Color. The Bonus Features are great too. It includes the home movies and the feature that Don did for ABC inducing the series to ABC, this is a most for all Giant Fans. Well worth the US$170.00 price tag. The case alone is very nice looking. The person who orders the movies for the store took one look at the set and the box and he was hooked. The store I work at has already sold 2 copies, and its not even Tuesday yet. This is the best looking box set i have ever seen, thanks to 20th Century Fox, it was a long wait but they made it worth it. To see the last 19 episodes uncut was great Wild Journey was much better then the verison on TV, the Picture is perfect now. I was watching it on my HD-DVD player so the picture was 1040. Do not over look this set, even if it comes out at a cheaper price later on. This is the Land of the Giants Fans biggest dream for the series. Only one bad thing about this set - double sided disk. Otherwise this is a most. Enjoy, I will." Michael.
